Marc Silber began taking black & white photographs at the legendary Peninsula School, avidly learning composition and darkroom skills. He seemed to always have a still or movie camera in his hands. On a parallel path, Marc began instructing in his early twenties at NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) so it was a natural step for him to teach photography through his workshops. In 2008 he said, “instead of my telling students what some of the masters of photography said, why not hear it straight from them?” This spark led to the interviews with Ansel Adams’ son including unreleased footage from Ansel himself. Thus the series AYP (Advancing Your Photography) was born, and has since grown to a library of hundreds of videos.
Today we cover quite a bit, such as visualizing your end results, learning to adjust to change, and being consistent in your efforts.

Top 3 Tips From the Interview:
1. Visualize the end result you want from your shots before you take the shot.
Before ever take the shot, visual what you want. This will help you learn how to shoot on purpose, as opposed to just relying on “happy accidents.”
2. Change is normal.
Times are constantly changing, and your business will to. Get comfortable with it. Learn to use it to your advantage.
3. Show up and be consistent.
Show up to new opportunities, and take great photos. Be consistent in your efforts, and you wil surely grow your business.
