Brent’s photographic specialties are event/commercial as well as portraiture. But, in truth, his expertise is in the business of photography. His studio is most well known for Senior Portraits – and that is about 70% of their business. He and his wife Teri Ann are the 3rd generation owners of Sylvart Studios in Barberton.
Brent is a Board Member of Professional Photographers of Ohio and on the Advisory Board of Skip Cohen University. He has spoken and taught for several organizations. He’s been a Professional Photographer for 20 years and is an expert in several areas of traditional and electronic imaging.
I want to give a huge thank you to Brent for taking the time to chat with us! I consider myself as much a student as the listening audience, and appreciate him sharing his extensive knowledge.
In this interview, we discuss:
- Treating your clients right.
- Keeping in touch with your past clients, and encouraging repeat business.
- Hiring people to help you in areas you’re not strong in.
- The difference between being a “photo technician” and being a business owner.
